SOMMAIRE
We wanted immediate family and closest friends to join us in a intimate, personal ceremony that would be followed by laid back dinner party. And we knew we wanted to celebrate outside. We first came across the venue, a fine dining restaurant adjacent to 18th century mansion and historic tree park, on the Internet. We arraigned a meeting with their in-house wedding planner and it felt right from the moment we got there. The venue itself looked as we hoped – natural and relaxed – but kindness and generosity of the people working at the restaurant, that would also be our caterer, was what made our minds. When we tried the food served there we were hooked!
Les photographes
We knew we wanted Katja and Simon to photograph our wedding ever since we had first seen their work online – even before we got engaged – because we simply loved their photography style and sense of aesthetics. We liked how they made they us feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot. The photos they made reflect the atmosphere and emotions of the day perfectly. We could not have chosen a better team to capture our day and will be forever grateful to them for the beautiful memories they gave us!
La Robe // Bride’s dress
I wore Envy Room dress. When I first saw it on the Internet I was pretty sure that would be the dress I would get marry in. I was looking for simple design, something that would resemble my personal style and I wanted lace. That dress had everything I wanted, so I didn’t even look further. Everyone was shocked how easy it was!
Stylisme // Decor
Our friends and family had helped us gather some old stuff, like books, suitcase and telephone, that we arranged laying around the venue, to give it a rustic feel. We had photos of us hanged on twine, wrapped around the tree trunks. Wooden chairs and hanging overhead lighting added extra charm to the whole setting. As the night progressed, the stars came out, the lights and candles shined brighter, and the venue became even more beautiful.
Fleurs // Flowers & Bouquets
With the whole summer garden wedding concept in mind, we wanted florals that would only enhance the beauty of the venue itself and wouldn’t break the bank at the same time. We wanted to keep things simple, neutral toned and natural looking. So we decided for all-white flowers with some greenery to go along. Floral arrangements and bridal bouquet included peonies, roses, hydrangeas and baby breath.
Food & Beverages
We wanted delicious food to be one of the highlights at our wedding, but at the same time to remain service casual and enable our guests to mix and mingle as much as possible. There was a cocktail style reception serving small bites when guests arrived and right after the ceremony. Craft beer and fresh lemonade were served along. We decided for a plated starter course and buffet style main course. Some dishes were prepared in front of guests, like fresh buckwheat pasta with free-range chicken ragout, seasonal vegetables and smoked cottage cheese foam. After dinner our homemade Limoncello was served as digestive. Before cake we had gelato truck from our favorite gelateria serving artisanal ice cream. Gin and tonic’s (bride’s pick) and Negroni’s (groom’s pick) were served later bar style.
Wedding songs
We had string quartet performed during formal reception. For walk down the aisle we had chosen “Canon and Gigue in D Major”. Immediately after ceremony “Por una Cabesa” was played. Our first dance was to “Senza Fine” by Andrea Bocelli.

Le meilleur souvenir // A memorable moment
Beside our first look, one of the most sentimental moments was when my (bride’s) parents presented us with a bottle of pear spirit that my grandparents had wrapped in newspaper of the day I was born, to be opened on the day of my wedding. Sadly, my grandparents are no longer with us, but their incredibly attentive gesture made us remember them on our special day.
